Ah, JFK

I always forget what a dump JFK airport is until I’m here again.

At least the annoucement speakers aren’t horribly overdriven in this part of the airport – the gate I was at last time I was here was *horrible*.

The delay in takeoff was actually a blessing in disguise, now I don’t have to hang out in JFK as long… kind of a funky smell in the air here.

Landed

I’m on the ground in Liberty City. Er, New York City, that is…

Now I just have 3 hours till my flight to Seattle leaves.

Not airborne…

We were about to take off, aaand… There was an A/C issue so we had to return to the gate. Hopefully they’ll fix it soon and we can get moving. It doesn’t effect my schedule, I have a 5-hour wait in NY anyway.

Having been up for 24 hours now, I’m starting to feel pretty tired…

The trip begins

I decided not to sleep, so stayed up packing, doing laundry, chatting online… At 4am I went outside, and right on time, Greg arrived. He zipped me over to the airport, I checked my bag (I had already printed my boarding pass at home) in moments, and walked through security.

So points for speed and efficiency, but now I’m at my gate with 2 hours till my plane takes off.

I’m the only one at the gate, and I notice that along with the regimented airport seats, there is a lone rocking chair, facing out at the tarmac.

Groovy

I bought the Bionic Commando: Rearmed soundtrack this morning on iTunes (I’d have preferred buying it from Amazon, and avoid the hassle of DRM, but it appears to be an iTunes exclusive).

You can listen to it on the Bionic Commando site.

Fun synth remixes and re-imaginings of the 80’s Capcom 8-bit tunes. Also on the soundtrack, a humorous trailer for the game… “When the world needed a hero, what they got was… this guy. A guy who couldn’t even jump.”

I also bought Bionic Commando: Rearmed (the game) on Xbox Live the other day, but with all that’s been going on, I haven’t played it much. Bionic Commando was one of my favorite games on the NES back in the day – Rearmed is the same game, with improved graphics and sound and some other stuff added. Maybe I can play it, if I ever get a free moment when my organs aren’t exploding. =P
