Finally got around to finishing Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates. Great stuff.
I’m following it up by reading What is Man by Mark Twain. Also great stuff, philosophy in the style (and at the level) of the classic Greeks.
The best humorists are also philosophers.
Or maybe it’s the other way ’round.
I mentioned the mangled letter, of which the corner with the return address made it back to me. Well, turns out the other half of the envelope, the part with the address on it, did indeed make it to the bank.
So at least they know I did send it, now I can send it out again.
Interesting that even when an envelope is torn in half in the mail sorter, each half can make it to the address on it…
